| ALP planner 'a bully'
DURING his stint as a senior Wollongong town planner, Labor powerbroker Joe Scimone was a bully who made impromptu decisions to benefit his mates, the corruption watchdog has been told. Mr Scimone, one of 14 people under investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), held a number of senior positions with Wollongong council in a 15-year association which ended last year. The inquiry today kicked off its second week of hearings into allegations of sex-for-development and bribes at the New South Wales south coast council. The NSW Government has been plunged into crisis following the accounts of Mr Scimone's former employment with the council, subsequent elevation to a senior NSW Government position and his ties to ministers.

Inmates beat up schoolgirl murder accused
A MAN charged with the murder of a 15-year-old girl whose remains were found in a house in Kent has been beaten up in prison, security sources said today. Handyman Peter Tobin, 61, suffered cuts and bruises in the attack and was taken to hospital in Edinburgh. He was set upon by fellow prisoners yesterday in the city's Saughton jail, where he was being temporarily held before a court hearing. He is due to appear in court for a second time today charged with the murder of schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton, who disappeared in 1991. Police found her remains during searches of a house in Margate earlier this month. A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said an inmate was attacked in the jail yesterday, but declined to name him or give details of the incident.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Fun Flicks From The Grammys!
If all goes Jay-Z's way, the rap mogul will tie rock legend Elvis for the most number one albums in history, a feat that depends on the success of the rapper's American Gangster album. Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, landed his ninth number one album last year with Kingdom Come, which sold about 680,000 in its first week, the rapper's best to date. The Kingdom Come album put Jay-Z in a tie with another iconic rock act, The Rolling Stones, who have landed number nine number one albums throughout their 40-year career. If Jay-Z's American Gangster sells well, only The Beatles would have offered the music world more number one albums, with an incredible 19. American Gangster's main opposition include Cassidy's highly anticipated album B.A.R.S.
The Archives
Good mescaline comes on slow. The first hour is all waiting, then about halfway through the second hour you start cursing the creep who burned you, because nothing is happening... and then ZANG! Fiendish intensity, strange glow and vibrations... a very heavy gig in a place like the Circus-Circus. You spend an age wondering if anything is going to happen... but it jumps you- initially, very very similar to good MDMA, airy, light in your head, kinda queasy and dizzy but you feel like you are radiating some kind of warmth outwards in the body. That sticks around for 30 minutes or so. At that point I went for a walk up some hills to look out over Glasgow city, that's when the emotional ride kicked in. Alternating waves of happiness, sadness, nostalgia, forward-thinking, deep seated memories coming to the fore followed by deja-vu.
Brown feels heat as Libdems and Tories seek answer to West Lothian ...
However, I can't wait to see how the English media react to it when they realise that they will actually have to ask the opinion of Scots, Welsh and N.I. representatives when it comes to EU negotiations instead of making deals that are weighted towards the S.E./Home Counties. Further to that, this recurring point of nationalist propaganda...I think it's fair to say that most of the 'nationalist propaganda' these days comes from down south. Some of the opinions in the English press would land you in court if you took them into the street. .

Bush Leaves Saturday for 5-Country Tour of Africa
It's a great tragedy on the continent," Stephen Hadley, Bush's national security adviser, said Wednesday. He said about a half-dozen of the conflicts in Africa are on the way toward resolution but, "unfortunately, what's happening in Kenya is a step backwards." Hadley called for an end to violence in Kenya accompanied by a wave of humanitarian assistance and a power-sharing arrangement. "That obviously means, at some point, free and fair elections," Hadley said. He said Bush would discuss Kenya with all the leaders he meets. Congo is threatening to explode yet again, with government forces battling those of a rebel warlord. Zimbabwe's political and economic crisis continues to deepen. The 2005 peace accord that ended Sudan's north-south conflict is feared to be in danger of collapsing, while the western Darfur region has now seen five years of atrocities by government-supported militias against black African communities that Bush calls genocide.
Exclusives with Jim Ross and Ashley
Leading up to WrestleMania 24 in Orlando on March 30, JAWBreaker will have some exclusive questions and answers with WWE announcer Jim Ross. Thanks to WWE's Bob Collins for setting this up. Here is Week 2 with Jim Ross. Enjoy! Question: Like her or not, Britney Spears is probably the most bankable celebrity right now. Any chance we'll see her at WM 24? If not, any other celebrity rumblings you can let us know about? Answer: "It's not that other talented albeit 'high-maintenance' females haven't been successful in the past in the WWE, but with Britney's many alleged issues the suggestion of her being a part of WrestleMania 24 might not be wise at this time. She needs to get her life back together, and the WWE would be taking a calculated risk to bring her into such a positive environment like WrestleMania 24.
